Student Loan Debt---- I need help!!

I am in desperate need of help. My life has not been an easy one. I've always did what my parents said at a very young age. Therefore, I went to college and got a job. My parents were not educated enough to warn me of the dangers of receiving student loans. Now, I am in debt up to my forehead! Can someone please help me erase my student loans? I am a hard-working individal but it will take me 35 or more years to pay off these student loans.

About Mommyintrouble

Where do I start. First off I am a 40 year old woman in a very hostile marriage that I am trapped in. I have two children ages 5 and 7. I live 3000 miles away from friends and family who can help support me.. About 2 years ago it was suggested I do my own lines of credit so when the time came to leave I would have my own credit. I took advise did some investing in a few things that really backfired. The card I opened was a VERY high interest rate. I closed the account try to make the minimum payments but now behind. I ama stay at home mother. If my husband finds this debt it will destroy my home life, perhaps put me in more of a hostile enviroment I am already in. I have zero support and this hidden debt is eating away at my health now.. The debt is around 8k, I have closed the card, tried to hide money away to pay the miniumum but the debt keeps increasin!! If anybody has a solutionj that won't comprimise my health, the risk to my children and myself.. PLEASE let me know.. I'm about out of resources.

About Tex

Hello Everyone,

I am a single father, I work full time, go too school full time and I raise my son alone. I live in Iowa where I work as a Correctional Officer. I have had old debt that my exwife accrued that has followed me here and also am in hock up to my ears with student aide, home, auto, credit cards, and a number of small consumer loans that I have taken out to help support myself and my son. I really am not looking for a donation, but would love a loan to consolidate all of my debt. My home would be collateral, but the Iowa market is such that it is not worth what I need to consolidate the debt I owe. If truely interested in helping me bail myself out, please write back and give me the contact info. I appreciate the thought and help. Please remember that due to my debt and my situation, my credit is trashed and is on the brink of passing poor.

God Bless You,

Steven :)

DEBT NO MORE

Like most of everyone on this site I too have fallen into that debt thing that runs you down and makes you feel like crap.  Single mom...2 divorces...and please make non judgement there unless you know the circumstances....I make to much money to qualify for anything and not enough to give my boys lunch money.  But...I am making a difference.  I am building a Multi-Virtual Assisting Company so that I can work from home.  I refuse to let this get me down any more.  If you have any kind of office skills then contact me.  If you know website design, if you know how to work with html...even if you don't have those types of skills but have office experience...then contact me.

I have been doing lots of research about this debt crisis and I tell you what...I am disturbed!!  Yes..disturbed.  It's time to put an end to it all.

The biggest step is taking responsibility for your debt...I had to...even though it was created not just by me...and what ever you do...never ever agree to anything with any debt counseling, debt consolidation or bankruptcy people until you have really thought it through.

I made the mistake of hiring a debt management company that took $3,000.00 from me and told me that I should not speak to anyone I owe money to...now they have disappeared and all my accounts have gone to collection...then I went to a bankruptcy lawyer...and after the first $450.00 was told I qualified for Chpt 7 and that I needed by law to do bankruptcy counseling..which I did for another $75.00.  I then went back to the bankruptcy lawyer who, during my visit there spent more time answering calls and working with other clients then he did paying attention to the fact that I was in his office for my appointment....he at that time told me ...well you no longer qualify for chpt7.  He said I now qualify for 13 and that there will be more fees involved....UUUGGGHHHH....So lets see...$3,525.00 later (which I could have used to pay down the debt a bit) and I am no where!

I refuse to go on like this and am doing something about it....!!!!!!

write to me for more info!

We rent a trailer and it's kind of crappy but it's home. As i keep looking for another job i'm sure we'll be back on our toes soon. I desperately call on the help of anyone out there. i need enough money to get a new air conditioner. It gets super hot and my baby's cheeks get so red that most of the time we spend our days away from home. I don't know how to do this but i do have a paypal account at br4inst0rmATgmailDOTcom

Oh, and by the way. Never buy a dodge neon they have bad transmissions and will break your wallet to where you never need a wallet because you don't even have a dollar.

I can't get married...because of money

I've been with my beautiful and caring fiancee Jennifer since our freshman year in college, November 7, 1998...we've been engaged since March 5, 2002.  We're still not married.  We both want to get married.  Nothing fancy, but not just the courthouse either.  We want our family and some of our friends to come, and would like to have a little get together to celebrate our union.  However, after continuing on to graduate school in Savannah, we've accumulated over $100K in student loans.  After struggling through 3 years of graduate school and completing our goals, we can no longer afford to marry.  The college debt and credit card debt is that deep.  I would marry Jenn tomorrow if I could give her the wedding and financial security that she so deserves!  However, at this rate I fear that even as two people with promising careers (I'm a teacher, she is an interior designer) we'll never be able to get married, never have children, and never have a home to call our own.  I just wish life wasn't so hard some times.  All one wants to do is provide the security and family that someone as wonderful and supportive as Jenn deserves.  I thank you for your time.

Sincerley,

BK

my house burnt down and i didn't have insurance

I am a recent college grad, with a job that barely pays my bills trying to work my way up in the business world. While I was attending school my house burnt down and I lost EVERYTHING in it. To make matters worse I didn't have renters insurance. I did the only thing that I knew to do which was put everything on credit since I couldn't afford anything. I put rent, my car payment, furniture EVERYTHING on credit cards just so that I could finish my education, now I have racked up a total debt of 46,000 in credit and student loans and i am struggling to make even minimum payments on all these, while still trying to pay for the basics of life like rent, gas, food, insurance. Any help that you can give me would be GREATLY appreciated. I do believe in what goes around comes around and if you help me I guarntee that I will help someone less fortunate than me in the future because I was helped when I needed it!
